Catdoku is a cute logic puzzle game with a cat theme, combining ideas from Sudoku and Minesweeper. Instead of filling a grid with numbers, you put a limited number of cats in the right cells.
There are several rules to be followed and each board has areas of colours.
The idea is to logically find where each aloof cat belongs, instead of making random guesses. As the puzzles get more complicated it becomes even more important to watch carefully and knock out possibilities.
Every completed Catdoku board must follow four rules:
For example, a 6x6 board requires 6 cats, one in each row, column and colour.
You can mark impossible positions with an X before placing a cat. This reduces the available options and makes difficult boards easier to read.
Look again at the row, column, coloured region and surrounding cells of a confirmed cat you have placed. Good placement can eliminate several possibilities and give you the next move.
Catdoku keeps its controls easy to understand:
The challenge is to decide where each action should be used. It's safe to deduce rather than guess, because a fish can cost you an incorrect cat placement.
Cute cats may make Catdoku look simple, but solving each grid requires genuine logical thinking. Mark carefully, eliminate impossible cells, and find a safe home for every cat.
